Devan Mayson was the business editor of "The Rocky Mountain News," the 20th largest paper in the U.S. at the time. He ran a guest column called "The Business Rostrum," and I asked to be featured. Devan gave me the opportunity, liked my writing, and I published a dozen career strategy articles for him. When I got the International Association of Financial Planners (IAFP) as a client, I sent Devan this letter seeking publicity for the organization.

Dear Devan:
As you may have noticed, I've gotten the account of "The International Association for Financial Planning, Inc."
I'm putting together a media kit for them, and when it's ready, I'd like to drop by and take you to lunch.
The IAFP has wonderful, exciting programs in store for both the financial community and the general public.
I've enclosed an article on "Abusive Tax Shelters" by one of our members. Martha Costers called you earlier on this.
Hope your summer continues to go well.
Warm regards,
William S. Frank
