Shoshanna is a friend who operates a moving company. I have used her services before, but couldn't this time. I wanted to keep my warm relationship with her, so sent this handwritten note.

I'm sorry we were not able to use you on our recent move. As I think you know, TeleCable West wanted us out of their building and paid for our move. By using their movers—USA Transport—we got their corporate rate at a considerable savings.
I've enjoyed getting to know you, Shoshanna. I value our newly-formed friendship, and will attempt to promote you and your company as often as I can.
