The holidays are always a good time to reward, recognize, and reunite your team. Each year, besides bonuses and gifts, I gave our staff cards with handwritten notes. This year the printed message on the card said, "Happy Holidays and every good wish for the New Year." This went to a staff consultant, with a bonus check.

Thanks for all your help in 20—, a difficult year for both of us. It's nice to have someone I can depend on. Together, I believe we can make 20— our best year ever.
