Bad Referral Partner #2

One of our strategic partners referred an assignment to us, which we completed in good faith. Our split was 89% of the total fee: in this case, $1,602.00. The referring partner collected the fee from his corporate client, but did not pay us. This was our final attempt to collect. The account was paid in full shortly after this e-mail was sent. Ellen Yoshida was CareerLab's Director of Operations. Jim Bolt at The Eastlake Group was our strategic partner.

Jim,

We provided services to Mike Guild, referred from Jesse O'Donnell, beginning on 1/30/20—. Mr. Guild was from Artistic Business Systems, Inc.  The total due us was $1,602.00 (89% of $1800).  After numerous billings and phone calls, to date we have received $500.00 on 8/25/20—.

The Eastlake Group still owes us $1,102.00.  David Clay, formerly with CareerLab, had mentioned to me that your company has had some financial difficulties, and I am sorry to hear that.  However, we have incurred the expenses associated with providing Mr. Guild's outplacement services per your company's request and promise to pay.

It has been almost eight months since we were asked to perform the work and began. I do not ask when we will be paid. We expect to be paid immediately.

I don't think that is too much to ask at this late date.  Please consider this a demand for payment.

Ellen Yoshida
Senior Vice President
