Dear Bill:

Thank you for taking time to talk with me over the phone this past week. I have enclosed a copy of my resume which details my accomplishments over the past several years.

While Vice President of Operations for Texas Instruments, I was responsible for the development and implementation of Just-in-Time (JIT) throughout the entire manufacturing and distribution operations. The approach taken with JIT was to eliminate waste, whether it was wasted effort, time, space, inventories, machine setup, materials handling, or financial accounting practices.

The hard results produced through implementation of the various programs allowed TI to consolidate Denver manufacturing operations from three facilities to one with over 200,000 square feet of floor space savings. Inventories were reduced substantially, scrap was reduced, product quality was improved and materials were pulled through the manufacturing process in much less time.

JIT is an ongoing program as there are always opportunities to reduce waste in every area. I found that JIT was an attitude and was especially successful because of the commitment developed throughout the total organization.

Bill, I will call you early next week after you have had a chance to review my resume. I would like to meet with you personally to discuss my capabilities.

Thank you for your interest!
