Dear Tamara:
I'm looking for some advice and counsel from people I know and trust.
Rocky Mountain Bank, the firm I worked for the last five years, was sold at year-end and merged with another financial institution. As a result, my job was eliminated. The Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation, receiver for Rocky Mountain Bank, asked me to remain and assist in managing the real estate loan/asset portfolio. The position was temporary, as a relocation would be required to make it permanent. I've completed that assignment and I'm ready to move forward with something more long-lasting.
I'd like to continue to be a manager in a financial services company (bank, savings and loan, credit union, insurance company, etc.). I'm good at managing people and other resources to attain corporate profits. I've also managed data processing installations of all sizes. I like being a part of a dynamic organization, and I am looking for that next opportunity.
You're a successful person with friends who are also successful. Perhaps you, or someone you know, are aware of a firm that needs someone with my capabilities. If so, I'd appreciate your giving them a copy of the enclosed resume, and I'd like their name so that I can contact them personally.
The past few months have been exciting, but the next few years hold even more promise. I'm enthused about the prospect for change and I hope that you can help me make sure it's a positive change.
I'd appreciate your thoughts and ideas. Please contact me at (303) 755-8880. Thanks for your help.
Best regards,
John H. Norris
