A consultant contacted me to discuss joint ventures, and because I was overly busy, I ignored her. When the dust settled, I re-approached her with this apology. August Marriman was the friend-in-common who suggested our meeting.

Laila,
I received your letter in July, and I know you've called my office several times. I apologize for not contacting you sooner.
I have been involved in selling my business to a group of employees and investors, starting a new business-to-business Internet company, and taking care of existing clients—all at once!
Now that most of this is complete, I'd like to talk to see how I can help you, or how we could work together. Could we talk this Friday at 11:00 or 1:00?
Thanks,
:Bill Frank
