For five years I attended a CEO roundtable, where leaders of non-competing companies served as a board of advisors for each other. Naturally, we became good friends. I saw a fellow-CEO on the street, and failed to acknowledge her. Afterwards, I felt she deserved an explanation and an apology.

I apologize for not stopping to chat a bit when I saw you Saturday. I had just learned that a good friend's mother had died, and was in a state of shock. This was a lady I'd known well who was essentially a second mother to me.
I did have a good Christmas. My is visiting from L.A., and my dad joined us for Christmas dinner.
To answer your question: yes, I'm taking a few days off here and there. This week will be slow—a good time to organize and get ready for 20—.
