This letter plays several roles. First, it's a genuine heartfelt thanks. Everyone appreciates that. Second, it's a tool the conference planner can use to market his business. Third, because the letter is so powerful and well-thought-out, it will encourage Jess to make referrals to me, if and when he can.

Dear Jess,
This is to thank you for helping us plan our successful exhibit booth for the Colorado Human Resource Association tradeshow.
We have attempted trade show booths before, but all were thrown together without a coherent plan. The results were less than stunning. While we made a good show, we seldom came away with specific concrete leads we could convert into sales.
This conference was difficult to plan, because the political factions on our management team each wanted to go their own way. The resulting strife was hard to direct.
Your organized planning approach eliminated the politics and conflict. You went out of your way to make sure we stayed on target. Your series of checklists covered every possible facet of tradeshow marketing, from beginning to end. You helped us organize our ideas and plan a specific targeted approach. Your biggest contribution was to help us streamline and focus our presentation. In the past we had tried to be all things to all people, which diffused our marketing effort, and confused our target audience.
Thanks to you, our tradeshow booth was focused, and it was a huge success—the biggest success in our history. You delivered exceptional value, and I can't thank you enough for your efforts on our behalf.
With best wishes,
William S. Frank
