Since I was in the career business, it made sense to have a license plate related to employment. "AJOB4U" said exactly what I did. The woman who handed me the plates at the department of motor vehicles said, "Have you got a job for me?"

And so it went for many years. People in passing cars waved and smiled. Wnen I parked at monthly human resources meetings, my clients and potential clients loved the plates. Competitors hated them. Executives riding with me smiled when I said, "Have you seen my plates?"

I saw a singles show where women said men with vanity plates are undateable, and I can't say I can attribute any $25,000 assignments to "AJOB4U." But I've kept the plate for 20 years, and it has certainly been a sign of good luck. This photo was taken in 1993.
