My cover letter book, "200 Letters for Job Hunters," published by Ten Speed Press was the first anthology of letters for job seekers. It sold so well I put it online without charge. This was my way of giving back to the community.
The Internet letter collection was free for many years, until we finally began charging a small subscription fee to cover our costs. It was wise to give the collection at no charge for several years, because during that time, several thousand websites linked to our site, creating tremendous traffic. When I initiated the subscription fee, the traffic produced good revenue. Now the site is FREE again and supported by advertising. The AOL site is discontinued.
