The printed message in my annual Christmas card said, "May all the joys of the season be yours." Normally, I wouldn't freely share disappointments with clients or colleagues. This note went to a mentor and close confidant.

Linford,
We closed our Houston office this year. Painful, but we've regrouped. I'm focusing more on my own consulting now. Mostly $100K execs—and a new market niche, unhappy or displaced physicians. Will call for an appointment so we can meet. You've been a great help to me, and a good friend. Thank you for your kindness.
