I don't remember the exact circumstances of this e-mail. Rick was a shareholder and member of our board of directors. I imagine we had a difficult board meeting with tough issues to address, perhaps the termination of a non-performing consultant, or the re-structuring of the stock. In any case, it felt great to have him by my side, and I told him so. Like many other brief thank yous, this would make a nice handwritten note.

Rick,
Thanks for the show of strength yesterday.
We really need your expertise, leadership, and assertiveness.
And most of all, your friendship.
Have a great holiday weekend,
:B
