As I walk through my day seeing repairpeople, FedEx employees, delivery workers, and others, I'm fond of saying, "Thanks for taking care of us!" They always smile and say, "You're welcome," even though they're surprised a total stranger is thanking them.
As a result of this upbeat habit, I think I'm treated very well by others. That contributes to my sense of well-being and my ability to project a positve, confident image. In the consulting world, a positive, confident image = success.
I wrote this note to Angela Baranski when she was a new administrative assistant at CareerLab.
