Dear Mr. Frank:

On Tuesday, August 24, I read your article in the Rocky Mountain News, "Fear Checklist Calms Job-Hunting Nerves." At the time, I was not looking for a job, but had plans to do so soon. So, I decided to clip your article and post it on my refrigerator.

Now that I am actively seeking employment, I have many times referred to your list of helpful hints in overcoming job-hunting fears. And, sure enough, they work! Thank you for sharing your valuable ideas with me and the countless others in my situation.

As you may have guessed, your article made quite an impression on me. Not only were your suggestions helpful, your writing revealed admirable qualities about your organization. After reading your work, I determined that you probably must run a company that recognizes the needs of its employees.

Anyone who can suggest:

  • "Don't withdraw. Don't hide. Stay active."
  • "Laugh more often. Cry more often. Get angry."
  • "Share your feelings."
and
  • "Develop an emotional support group."
  • must surely have keen discernment of human nature and needs. And, this is the type of organization I want to work for!

For this reason, I am enclosing my personal data "flyer" and my resume. I would appreciate your perusing these two items, in hopes you would consider me for employment.

In the meantime, I shall try to heed your suggestion, "Don't put all your eggs in one basket."

I would be delighted to hear from you soon!

Respectfully submitted,

Kathy Thomas
