In 1996, when the Internet was new, we sent a bulk fax to 60,000 names. This was before anti-faxing and anti-spamming laws were in place, and these practices were considered legitimate. The result was good publicity with only a few complaints. Today, we would not use bulk e-mail or fax, but an announcement like this could be printed as an ad, sent by mail, written into a newsletter, or delivered in other ways.
