We promoted our monthly executive breakfast through news releases to local business publications and trade journals. Most trade or professional journals need filler to plug gaps in their content. I sent this 65-word news release to a monthly journal, and suggested that they run it periodically, which they did. The release is short on purpose—to fill small spaces. Ordinarily, a news release would include meeting times, location and costs.
