Apology for Being Totally Unreachable

Sometimes it happens: we're totally out of touch for an extended period of time. Business or personal issues, or both, pile up, weigh us down, and shut off all communication with the outside world, even with our family and closest friends.

This note was written at such a time in my life. Katy was a close friend and former client, and I lost touch with her during her career transition, which is unlike me. I felt terribly bad about it. This note rekindled our relationship and we've been close business friends ever since.
Katy,

I hear you’ve got a new full-time gig, and I’m so happy for you. I’m writing to apologize for being unreachable last year.

I was truly off the grid.

I’m sorry I was out of touch, and hope it hasn’t damaged our good friendship.
