The holidays are always a good time to reward, recognize, and reunite your team. Each year, besides bonuses and gifts, I gave our staff cards with handwritten notes. This year the printed message on the card said, "Happy Holidays and every good wish for the New Year." To a consultant in the firm, I wrote:
Dear Gordon,
Thank you for your great enthusiasm, your leadership, and especially for your friendship. You've contributed a lot to me and to our business.
