Thank You For Breakfast #2

A corporate client changed careers. Formerly the Vice President of Human Resources for a bank, he shifted into professional association management. One of his first clients was The Colorado Human Resources Association (CHRA), a group I marketed to heavily.

I took Lennard to breakfast to congratulate him and to develop further business. CareerLab offered to provide two consultants to staff monthly CHRA luncheons, a nice sales tactic. This letter keyed on the fact that Lennard and I are both amateur photographers.

Dear Lennard,

Thanks for breakfast. It was a real treat. You're one of the few friends I can bore with my photography.

As I told you, I'm proud of you for striking out on your own path and forging a career that takes advantage of your many talents. It takes a while to see which cream rises to the top, but the adventure is well worth taking.

I'm reminded of Henry David Thoreau's quote which fits nicely:

If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life that only he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.
I've talked with the staff and they're enthusiastic about helping at the registration table. We'll provide two warm bodies for you for the 20— season. Do we need any special training? If not, we'll just show up at 11:00.

Thanks again for breakfast.

Let's do it again soon,

William S. Frank
