Thank You For Great Ideas

One of my former CEO-clients is now a trusted advisor. We've become friends and sounding boards for each other. When I felt my practice lacked direction, I created a document called "Consulting Focus," and shared it with Friends.

Preston gave it a lot of thought, and suggested that I help people in extremely emotional situations (a turnaround, a termination, etc.) and therefore am an "emotional coach." I am supportive of people in crisis, but I wasn't sure how well "emotional coach" would sell in corporate America. Nevertheless, I sent this note.

Preston,
Thanks for taking time to review my "Consulting Focus" and share your great ideas. The concept of "emotional coach" is helpful and I'm thinking of creative ways to employ it. You're a dear friend, and I appreciate you very much.
