Jim is an executive recruiter who invited me to lunch. I benefit from meeting with him three ways: 1) he can refer new business to me, and 2) I can ask him to help me place some of my executive candidates. The third benefit is simply friendship. Business is, after all, a social pursuit. In this case, Jim treated me to the Metro Club, a private upscale restaurant in the suburbs. All the more reason to say thanks.

Jim,
Thanks for a more-than-delightful lunch at the Metro Club. What a treat! I enjoyed hearing about your business, and I'm glad to see we've both gotten younger over the years! Thanks again for taking the time.
