Couldn't Do It Without You

I ran CareerLab alone for many years.  I remember standing on the beach at Esalen in Big Sur, California, listening to voicemail and returning calls from a pay phone.  There was no one else in the company, so everything was my responsibility.  As I noticed everyone at Esalen having fun but me, I wondered, "What's wrong with this picture?"  And I decided to add staff and build the company.

Dear Kent,
This is the first time in about 10 years that I've taken a 2-week vacation.  I couldn't be doing it without you.  Part of leaving is passing the ball and letting you-all run with it.  I'm enjoying the fact that we're not a one-person show anymore.  We're a company.
