Jayne M. Gilson

New York, NY 10057

Dear Jayne,

As a result of a study by Andersen Consulting , the New York University  Medical Group recently re-engineered the physician executive management team, and elected a new board of directors which is taking the organization in a different direction. As a result of these changes, four Associate Medical Director positions have been eliminated, including mine. There may be a job for me in the new organization, but nothing has been promised, and no offer will be made until mid-19--.

Besides looking at opportunities as a physician executive inside NYU,
I’m also looking at opportunities outside the organization. I’m primarily interested in Medical Director or Chief Operating Officer positions in HMOs, IPAs, PPOs, hospitals, and other healthcare organizations.
Michael and I enjoy the New York metropolitan area, but realize that we may have to relocate for the right opportunity.

I’ve enclosed a copy of my resume for your review. Please feel free to pass along copies to any of your business associates that you think may have an interest.

I plan to call you within the next 10 days to be sure you received this letter and to ask if you have any thoughts or ideas about people I should contact, or specific positions or opportunities I should pursue. I appreciate your taking the time to consider my situation, and I look forward to talking to you soon.

Warm regards,
