Dear Peter,

I sincerely appreciate the assistance and support you provided me during my search for new employment. I'm pleased to let you know that I've accepted a position with Fireman's Fund Insurances in California. While leaving so many old friends here in Colorado will be difficult, we are looking forward to new friends, an excellent career opportunity, and the fabled California lifestyle. I find in Fireman's Fund many of the same positive qualities of young, progressive business leadership that I found at Colorado Banking.

Bill Frank, the outplacement consultant who guided my search efforts, told me that the process would be illuminating in terms of who my friends really are. He was right--it's been a powerful and positive experience. Bill also told me it was highly likely that my next job would come via a friend. My entree to Fireman's Fund was Virgil Pittman, a friend of eighteen years. Virgil is a very strong businessman who lives his beliefs every day. While I won't be working directly for him, I am looking forward to working with him and to renewing the relationship between my family and his.

Thanks again for your help and support. Please, let's make a mutual effort to stay in touch despite the miles between us.

Best regards,

John H. Norris
